2010 General Funds Grant Cycle

The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas is excited to announce the 2010 General Funds Grant Cycle. For this cycle, the CFSEK will be granting to programs in Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford, and Labette Counties for children and families, education and leadership, community development, and Arts and Culture (Pittsburg only).

The CFSEK is very excited to have an increase in available grant funds for 2010; and with this increase, the CFSEK looks to make grants that can have an immediate impact in the communities we serve.  To create this impact, we need to hear from local non-profit organizations such as yours.  We will be leading Community Conversations in each county during the month of April and May.  A schedule of those meetings is included.  Please plan to attend the meeting for your county and share insight on the needs of your community. 

Last year, the CFSEK utilized County Coalitions to determine a focus for grant applications.  This allowed for the CFSEK to make strategic grants focused on addressing Basic Human Needs.  Because of the County Coalitions’ unique relationship with communities and established collaborative efforts, the CFSEK will once again utilize their organizations to hold these community conversations (with the exception of Bourbon County). Due to a scheduling conflict, the CFSEK will host the Bourbon County Community Conversation at a separate location.  ONLY THE AGENCIES REPRESENTED AT THE COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS WILL BE ELIGILBLE TO APPLY FOR 2010 GRANT FUNDS. These conversations will help to determine the grant focus for each county.

Applications will be mailed only to those agencies who attend the County Conversations listed below.  All applications will be submitted to the CFSEK for review by the CFSEK Grant Committee.
